Time Machine Special – Fun with Paint

This was an exercise I almost forgot about, but it was certainly fun to do. I created a set of different 2D “patterns” and incorporated them into one 3D piece. This was one of those “open to interpretation” assignments although I confess, I hate working in acrylic. It goes on smooth but when it dries the texture becomes much rougher and loses all of it’s shine.

These were the patterns I came up with for each CD in the stack, although since the goal was 5 patterns, my stack is kind of lopsided. 6 CDs would’ve made for a more symmetrical piece.
